The History of Hotel Möta

How it all began ...

“The story of Hotel Möta started on the 23rd of December 1973, when my parents, Rodigari Arturo and Mattini Barbara Alice, transferred the management of the hotel to me and my sister. My sister Tullia was then 20 and had completed training in book keeping. I myself was a 17 year old girl with a qualification in foreign languages.

Although neither of us had any experience in the hotel business, we were able to overcome numerous problems due to our enthusiasm and love of the work.

A few years later my sister backed out of managing the hotel and I managed the hotel alone. I was very proud of the good results and over the years I learned to really treasure the joy of working in the hotel industry.

Since marrying in 1981 me and my husband have brought up five children: Alessandro, Raffaele, Massimiliano, Barbara Alice and little Eleonora. They have helped us manage the hotel through good and difficult times. My husband has also invested lots of time and effort into this new job and has supported me with his innovative spirit. Thanks to our determination we are in the position to continuously improve. Our aim has always been to recognise the needs of our guests and to meet them as best we can.

We are always making new decisions and remain open to radical changes. We are now celebrating our "comeback" with a brand new structure of the hotel. We never have a weekend off, the hotel is and remains a huge family!" …Claudia.

That was the foundation for our new Alp & Wellness Hotel Möta. The name "Möta" is the dialect form of "Motta", a village which was originally owned by the Motta Family and was later given to a priest.
